Saturday saw two Wheelers in action. Wheeler Trevor Mayne rode in the VTTA 10 mile Open Time Trial at Hatfield Woodhouse. Riding a standard road bike Mayne finished in 25m 39s which placed him 2nd in the road bike category.
Further south, Wheeler Rob Barnard rode the VTTA 25 mile Open Time Trial on a rolling dual carriageway course near Newark. In his first 25 of the season Barnard started off at a 25mph pace but was slowed by a headwind in the final 5 miles to finish in 1h 3m 11s. This placed him 5th in the 50-54 year old category.
Birdwell Wheelers next event is a club hill climb up to Green Moor on Tuesday Sept 2nd. First rider off at 18:30. All welcome. Riders must have a working front and rear light and must wear a helmet.
