Last Thursday saw the first of the club’s three 15 mile time trials at Thurnscoe. A poor weather forecast saw just two riders Trevor Mayne and Paul Heggie ride. Mayne was fastest in 41m 22s while Heggie finished in 49m 12s. On handicap Heggie was 10 seconds ahead. The last of the three is next Thursday 9th May. Visitors are welcome.
On Sunday Dave Scargill rode in the 39 miles Tom Simpson Road Race at Braithwell. 3 riders broke away on the 2nd of 7 laps and Scargill finished in the main bunch.
Also on Sunday Roger Bacon, Dave Hudson, Chris Jenkins, John Walton, Phil Adams,Austin Watson, John Woodhouse and Marc Peasegood were among 35 riders who set out in fine weather from Birdwell Community Centre on the 100km Audax out to Snaith and back. All finished well inside the time limit of 7h 15m.

The previous day Tina Oakes completed the 167km Mallorca sportive which included a gruelling 2475 metres of climbing including Puig Major the highest peak on the island of Majorca.
Sunday’s club run will see members ride out to the Dales to spectate on the 3rd stage of the Tour of Yorkshire. Meet at Brewers Fayre roundabout Wombwell at 9am. Visitors are welcome.
