Last Saturday Wheeler Paul Heggie rode in the VTTA (North Midlands) Open 10 mile time trial at Hatfield Woodhouse. On a day when temperatures soared above 30oC, his time of 25m 09s was just 5 seconds slower than his best time on the course and placed him 37th of 60 starters.It was also a new club age record at 65 years old.
The previous Wednesday, Wheelers Kath Brankin and Austin Watson rode in the Barnsley RC 10 mile time trial at Park Springs. Watson finished in 29m 03s just 16 seconds in front of Brankin who was 1st Wheeler on handicap.
On the club run the next day Dave Hudson, Steve Myatt, Rodger Holmes, Paul Mynett, Philip Adams, Austin Watson, Chris Jenkins and Robert Parkes rode between 70 and 100 miles out to Bothamsall in Nottinghamshire.
This Sunday’s club run leaves Brewers Fayre roundabout Wombwell at 8 am. Visitors are welcome.
