Last Saturday saw the second of Birdwell Wheelers Open Time Trials on the 10 mile course at Hatfield Woodhouse. In the standard road bike event Jo Woodhouse of Birdwell Wheelers recorded a time of 28m 12s, placing him 5th, 5m 9s behind the winner Casper Raynard of Leeds Uni CC.
In the TT bike event Andrew Whiteley of Team Lifting Gear was fastest in 21m 17s winning the Taylor Trophy and fastest woman was Elaine Simpson of Sherwood CC in 25m 34s winning the Jim Carr Trophy
Tuesday saw the 2nd club event of the season on a 15km circuit at Thurnscoe. Fastest on the night was Wheeler Trevor Mayne in 24m 22s beating fellow Wheeler Paul Heggie into 2nd place in 29m 31s.
The next day saw Trevor Mayne ride the 18 mile Saddleworth Clarion Mountain TT climbing from Greenfield for 4 miles then a fast descent to Meltham followed by a 2 mile climb of Wessenden head finishing with a fast descent into Greenfield. His time of 59m 6s placed him 22nd overall and 4th in the 50-59 year age group.

Sunday’s club ride is the club’s 100 mile in 8 hour reliability ride.. Meet at 9am at Brewers Fayre Wombwell. Visitors are welcome.
