Last Wednesday Wheeler Trevor Mayne rode the Cragg Vale Hill Climb in Calderdale. At 5 miles in length it is the longest continuous ascent in England. His time of 18m 7.4s placed him an excellent 5^th overall and 2^nd in the 55-59 year age group missing 1^st by just 0.3 seconds!

Tuesday saw the 5^th of Birdwell’s 5 mile Time Trials at Thurgoland. On a very warm evening four Wheelers took part, the fastest on the night being Trevor Mayne in 13m 32s, 23s ahead of second place Marc Peasegood in 13m 55s. Austin Watson knocked a massive 1m 1s off his last week’s time to finish in 15m 47s and Paul Heggie finished in 16m 53s.

The 6^th of Birdwell’s 5 mile club time trials is on Tuesday June 20^th . Visitors welcome. First rider off at 19:00. Signing on just out of Thurgoland towards Hoylandswaine.

Sunday’s club ride meets at 9am at Brewers Fayre Wombwell. Visitors are welcome.
