Last weekend Birdwell Wheelers were well represented at the Peak Audax's 'Hopey New Year' endurance ride, a 100km event taking in much of the Peak District National Park.
Starting in the picturesque Hope Valley, the route went south through Bakewell to Ashbourne, before returning through Longnor and Tideswell and entailed 1850 metres of climbing. The weather was cold but dry and Marc Peasegood, John Woodhouse and Trevor Mayne all completed the 'audax' in 4 1/2 hours well within the cut off time.
