Sunday saw the running of Birdwell Wheelers last competitive event of the season. 11 riders rode the 1 mile hill climb up Well Hill to Green Moor glad of a strong wind keeping the rain away during the event.
Fastest on the day and winner of the Upperthorpe Trophy was Andy Nichols of Team Lifting gear in 2m 22.3s with team mate Paul Armstrong fastest of the over 40’s veterans in 3m 17.7s.
Fastest Wheeler was Gavin Phoenix in 3m 27.7s.
