Last Wednesday Wheeler Trevor Mayne rode the Peak RC 17 mile Open Time Trial at Longstone Edge. On one of his favourite courses he finished in a time of 47m 13s placing him 10th overall and 5th over 40 years old.

On the same night John Woodhouse rode in Bolsover & District’s monthly 10 mile Club Time Trial at Cuckney where he finished in a time of 28m 41s which placed him 15th on the night.

Mayne was again in action on Saturday this time riding in the North Midlands District Championship 14.7 mile Open Time Trial at Cuckney. His time of 33m 41s placed him 9th overall and 4th on age handicap.

Tuesday saw the first of seven 10 mile Club Time Trials at Park Springs. A small turnout saw Mayne fastest overall with 22m 10s. A strong ride by Marc Peasegood on his road bike saw him finish 2nd in 25m 54s. Tom Booth was 3rd in 27m 00s and John Woodhouse 4th in 27m 47s. The second event in the series is on Tuesday 3rd July signing on from 6:30 and visitors are welcome.

Sunday’s club run saw Steve Myatt, Chris Jenkins, John Walton and Dave Hudson ride a 50 mile loop to Laughton-en-le Morthen.

This week’s run sets off from Brewers Fayre roundabout Wombwell at 9:15 and heads out on a 60 mile hilly ride to Slaithwaite. Visitors are welcome.
