Last Saturday Wheeler Trevor Mayne rode the Yorkshire Cycling Federation (YCF) 30 Mile Open Time Trial on a rolling course on the old A1 at Boroughbridge. His time of 1h 9m 22s placed him 11th in a 57 strong field. It also set a new club age record at 54 years old beating his own time of 1h 10m 41s set at 52 years old.

On Tuesday the club’s 2nd of two club Hill Climbs took place up Well Hill to Green Moor.

Fastest Wheeler was Trevor Mayne in 3m 19.6s. Guest rider Andy Nichols,recceing the hill before Sunday’s Open event, set a new course record of 2m 21.3s.

The club’s Open Hill Climb takes place on the same course on Sunday 26th August at 6pm.

Last Sunday on a day when strong winds made for a real challenge, Wheelers John Walton, Phil Adams, Tony Lodge, Paul Mynett and Dave Hudson rode the Barnsley Boundary Heroes Ride [in aid of Help for Heroes]

This Sunday’s club run leaves Brewers Fayre roundabout at Wombwell at 9:15 and heads out on a 50 mile route to Laughten-en-le-Morthen . Visitors are welcome.
