“Last Sunday saw the annual running of Birdwell Wheelers Open Hill Climb. The event for the first time took place on the climb up Well Hill to Green Moor, normally used for club events.
26 riders from as far afield as Nuneaton took part with 3 riders from the organising club. The wet and windy weather earlier in the day relented but the riders had to cope with a damp road surface.
Winner on the day in a new course record, beating his own previous mark by nearly 5 seconds, was Andy Nichols of Team B38. 16 year old Kieran Smith of Bolsover and District CC surprised many older riders by finishing a close second. Fastest woman on the day was Emilie Verroken of MaxxRRT

Sunday morning saw Steve Myatt,Dave Woodhouse and Tony Lodge complete a very wet club run to Tickhill.
This Sunday’s club run leaves Brewers Fayre roundabout at Wombwell at 9:15 and heads out on a 70 mile route to Tadcaster. Visitors are welcome.
