Wheeler Trevor Mayne was the club’s only competitor in Chesterfield Coureurs’ Hill Climb at Beeley on a 2.3 mile climb with average 6% gradient. His time of 10m 38.0s was just 2 seconds shy of his personal best on the climb and placed him 30th in a 60 rider field.

On Sunday John Woodhouse and Rob Parkes rode the “Colourful Clumber” Audax event from Bolsover. The 70 mile route through Clumber Park was completed by both riders in 5h 20m, 2 hours inside the time limit for the event

Two groups were out on Sunday. In glorious autumnal weather Dave Hudson, Austin Watson, Phil Adams, Paul Mynett, Chris Jenkins, Rob Parkes, Mark Lafferty and Marc Peasgood rode an 80 mile loop to Misterton.

Meanwhile a mountain bike group of Steve Myatt, Rodger Holmes, Tony Lodge and Lee Ellis completed a 40 mile mainly off road loop to Dunford Bridge.

This Sunday’s club run is to the Windmills at Millhouse Green then to Pea Royd Lane Stocksbridge to watch the National Hill Climb Championship
