Last Sunday members of Birdwell Wheelers were out in the morning with threatening weather forecast for later in the day.

Dave Hudson, Chris Jenkins and Phil Adams set off at 8am to ride a 60 mile loop to Bank Café at Langsett via Holmfirth.

Trevor Mayne and Paul Heggie set off from Birdwell obelisk at 9am and rode a 35 mile loop also to Langsett via The Strines.

Club President Christine Minto rode a solo 50 mile loop from Wombwell through north Nottinghamshire whilst Dave Scargill headed out east on a 110 mile loop via Goole.

This coming Tuesday the club is running the first of two hill climbs, this being up America Lane at Hoober. The next day the club’s postponed 10 mile time trial Championship will take place on the Park Springs course during the Barnsley RC organised event. Both events start at 7pm and visitors are welcome.

This Sunday’s club ride is to Snaith leaving at 9am from Brewers Fayre roundabout at Wombwell. Again visitors are welcome.
