As the hill climbing season gathers pace, Wheeler Dan Emery was active on both days last weekend. On Saturday he rode Stocksbridge CC’s event on the notorious Pea Royd Lane, scene of last year’s National Championships.

His time of 3m 25.1s placed him 21st overall and 4th in his age category.
The next day he rode in Sheffrec CC’s event on the famous Monsal Head climb in the Peak District.
A number of club members rode out to cheer him on and his time of 1m 48.4s placed him 78th = out of 200 finishers and 17th = in his age group.

On Saturday Rob Parkes, Marc Peasgood, Alan and Lucy Bullock, Phil Adams, Kathleen Brankin and Dave Hudson rode a 75 mile loop to Eyam in the Peak District climbing 7200 feet in the process.
This Sunday the club ride is to Carburton and Tickhill where Emery is again in action.
The club’s monthly meeting is on Friday 11th Oct and prospective members are welcome. 7.30pm at Birdwell Community Centre Rockingham Street Birdwell.
