On Sunday Wheeler Paul Heggie rode his last Open Time Trial of the season. In a bid to escape the torrential local rain he travelled down to Severn Stoke in Worcestershire for the VC Sevale 10 mile event on the A38. The weather stayed dry and sunny but strong crosswinds mitigated against fast times and he finished in 26m 49s.

Also on Sunday Trevor Mayne, Chris Jenkins and John Woodhouse were some of the many who rode out to Harrogate braving the elements to watch the finish of the Men’s World Championship road race.

This Sunday, club members will be riding out to Monsal Head, the famous hill climb in the Peak District near Bakewell to watch club member Dan Emery of Birdwell Wheelers in his 4^th hill climb of the season, one of 234 riders competing on the day.
