Last Sunday saw 4 members of Birdwell Wheelers ride their final Open Event of the season. Dan Emery, Paul Heggie, Chris Jenkins and Trevor Mayne rode in the 2.3 mile climb at Beeley near Matlock. In a record field of 131 riders fastest was Mayne in 10m 57.8s (54th), Emery 11m 9.4s (57th), Jenkins 11m 48.0s (74th) and Heggie 15m 1.5s (109th).
Wheelers Phil Adams, Roger Bacon and Austin Watson rode an 80 mile loop from Barnsley to spectate.

The previous day Roger Bacon, Dave Hudson, Marc Peasegood and Dave Scargill rode a 70 mile loop to Birkin climbing 3000 feet in the process.
This Sunday the club ride is a 60 mile ride to Sherburn . Meet at 9am at Brewers Fayre Wombwell. Visitors are welcome.
